AR3000 Long Distance Measurement Sensor

The AR3000 Long Distance Laser Measurement Sensors employ pulsed time-of-flight measurement principles to measure very long distances at short measurement intervals. The solid-state laser diodes can be pulsed at nanosecond pulse rates and typical accuracy is within a few centimetres to achieve measuring speeds to 2 KHz. The laser sensor is an eye-safe (Class I) infrared laser device with an on-board visible aiming pilot laser (Class 2) that can be manually turned on and off. This sensor can measure 300 meters to regular surfaces. Longer ranges to 3000 meters are possible with the use of reflective target boards.

Typical applications for the AR3000 distance laser measurement sensor include bridge crane monitoring, trolley positioning, ship docking applications and altitude measurements amongst others.

Features

  • The sensor is designed for industrial environments with NEMA-4, IP67 enclosure ratings.
  • Typical data outputs are serial RS232, RS422 (optional) and current loop 4-20 mA signals.
  • This sensor is highly versatile and able to measure distances both indoors & outdoors.
  • The AR1000 measures from 0 to 300 m without the use of reflective targets. It can measure to any opaque surface.
  • The accuracy of the measurement is typically +/-20 mm. In special sampling modes, the AR3000 can measure the velocity of moving targets.
  • For very distant measurements, reflective target material can be used to measure between 30 and 150 meters.
  • The AR1000 has a Class 2 visible laser diode for simple aiming and setup.
  • This laser sensor comes standard with a RS232 serial interface, 4-20 mA current loop output and a single Limit switch for indicating alarms.
  • The AR3000 has several measurement modes that are optimised for speed, accuracy and long distances or short measurement windows.
